パンジアシードのドンソール〜マラパスクア島、サメスタディツアーが明日26日より予定通り開催されます。
このスタディツアーでは、サメと海についてさらに学ぶとともに、生態系を守ることの必要性について理解を深めるものであり、期間中はドンソール（フィリピン）にある学校を訪れ、地元の住民とともに様々なワークショップを行う予定です。またパラオよりプロのカメラマンが参加し、ツアーの様子、現地でのリサーチの様子を記録します。

未曾有の大地震による、電力施設への被害発生により、私たちの日本は電力が不足しています。特に、被災地域においては、電力の確保は、救援活動や復興活動にとっては極めて重要な問題です。

パンジアシードは2011年3月26日〜4月10日、フィリピン・ドンソールに所在するWWF（世界自然保護基金）、フィリピン・マラパスクア島に所在するニタリ研究プロジェクトチームとの協力で国際文化交流を兼ねたサメのスタディツアーを開催する。
最近のニュースでは、イギリス紙ガーディアンが気仙沼のサメ漁を大きく批判したのが記憶に新しいが、サメは4億年も前から海の最大捕食者として海洋生態系のバランスを保ってきた生物であるにも関わらず、毎年7,000万〜1億匹ものサメが世界中で捕獲されており、主な理由はアジアの有名な料理フカヒレスープの世界的需要を満たすためだと言われている。
